A Goodbye

Hi everyone,

This is Krysty, Bev's daughter. We weren't sure if we had everyone's contact and so I wanted to post here just in case.

I am, unfortunately, the bearer of sad news. Mom passed yesterday at around five in the evening. Her cancer symptoms had progressed rapidly over the past month, and she was eventually admitted to the hospital in hopes of making her more comfortable. The next day she woke briefly in the morning when a nurse came to check on her, and then she fell asleep. A few hours later, surrounded by Jody, Barb, Doug, Don and myself, she slipped away. Although a shock, we were glad that we were there to be with her when she passed and we were happy that it was so peaceful.

I wanted to thank you, both on our behalf and on hers. I know this blog, the ability to chronicle her journey and have people follow along, meant so much to her. She read all of your responses, and I know that your kind words and encouragement kept her going through some of her very darkest times. She loved everyone of you as much as we all loved her and we're glad that she can rest now. We will always miss her dearly, my mom was a light in the world that can never be replaced.

Jody is planning to hold a celebration of life in Calgary, in accordance with mom's wishes. We will update all of you with more details as they arise.

Finally I did want to note that I have no plans of shutting this blog down, I will keep it running for years to come.

Thank you all again for your kindness and compassion.

Sincerely,

Krysty Belisle
